Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Paronella Park, 1671 Japoonvale Rd, Mena Creek, Queensland 4871 Australia

In the cool of the afternoon we visit amazing Paronella Park’s Spanish style castles in the rainforest. This includes a 45 minute tour expertly conducted by Paronella Park’s own knowledgeable English, Chinese & Japanese speaking guides.

Paronella Park is a multi award winning tourist attraction with National Trust listed Heritage gardens and castle ruins, also boasting North Queensland’s first hydro-electric power plant all built by Jose Paronella at Mena Creek Falls. Originally created in the 1930’s by Jose Paronella, a man with a dream.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Lake Barrine, Yungaburra, Queensland Australia

Enjoy a relaxing quiet stop in the cool of the morning at beautiful Lake Barrine filled with pristine rain water and surrounded by World Heritage listed rainforest teeming with abundant wildlife. (This is a large Maar Volcano crater – a low subcircular volcanic crater lake derived from the latin “mare” for sea.)

This is the first stop of the day and includes a delicious morning tea (Option A only). Lake Barrine are famous for their award winning ‘Devonshire Morning Tea’ of freshly baked scones and jam/cream and locally brewed tea or coffee.

Participate in the first wildlife cruise of the day and view the undisturbed wildlife in its natural habitat. This cruise is highly recommended as it’s the best place to view the abundant wildlife. On most days the banks of the lake will reveal a variety of birds including pelicans and ducks and other animals such as tortoises, eels, water monitors and various species of snakes including pythons, carpet snakes & red bellied black snakes sunning themselves on the shoreline. (The Cruise is only included in our Option A tour)

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

Stop At: Curtain Fig National Park, Yungaburra, Queensland Australia

After leaving Lake Barrine, we take a short journey through quaint country towns and farming areas to visit an unusual quirk of nature – the 600 year old Curtain Fig Tree nestled in World Heritage Mabi rainforest. This is the worlds most visited tree and easily accessible via elevated boardwalks.

The surrounding rainforest is home to the shy Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo – only found in Queensland. We spot them seasonally high up in the trees.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Millaa Millaa Waterfall, Millaa Falls Road, Millaa Millaa QLD 4886, Australia

After departing the Curtain Fig Tree, we travel through picturesque farming areas and country villages to visit world famous Millaa Millaa Falls, one of the most renowned and photographed waterfalls in Australia surrounded by Mabi rainforest. This waterfall has been used as a feature in both television advertisements and movies.

The waterfall flows over solid volcanic basalt rock formed over many thousands of years ago giving the perfect drop for Millaa Millaa creek to fall for approx 20 metres into a pool surrounded by rainforest.

We were transported by small coach from our hotel to Cairns then onto another coach and had a fantastic day. The coach driver was great and we stopped at various sites along the way which we hadn't expected but definitely added value to the trip. It's definitely a full day which we all enjoyed. There were regular breaks at various sites and the Tea House on the dam was great with old world charm. We had a great meal at the Italian restaurant. Paronella Park was great. A definite must do if you're in the Cairns area.

It was a wonderful tour with Mitch. He provided experience, humour and knowledge of the area. It was a full day which I’m sure was very much enjoyed by our bus load of tourists. We enjoyed the morning tea at Lake Beecham, Milla Mills Falls and of course Paronella Park - what can we say other than the this was incredible and can’t wait to return.

This place was everything I imagined it would be, such a beautiful serene magical place, I just walked around imagining what it would have been like in it’s day. The night tour is a must as well, just book a cabin on the property so you don’t have to drive at night, there is also a caravan park on sight. When you arrive you are welcomed by the owner or one of his team and someone is there to farewell you when you leave as well, they can also book you in at the local pub for a meal that night it’s just a short walk up the road over a suspension bridge over the falls, there is also a on sight cafe. All up for me it was an amazing experience.

Fabulous and informative tour. Weather was a bit Yucky but many Thanks to Shane our Bus Tour guide an Awesome Day was had be all. Scones and Pitza and Pasta Lunch Yum. Only Complaint was the tour guide at Paronella Park, She was quiet rude to all of our group for being 5 mins late and continually complained while doing tour.

Informative guide and great day out. Would love to have seen Paronella Park in its heyday. Lunch was a bit ordinary and would have liked a little less time at Millaa Millaa Falls and Babinda Boulders for a bit more time at Paronella itself. Yummy morning tea at Lake Barrine - shame the cruise was not operating due to COVID.

Wonderful day out. Millaa Millaa Falls and Paronella Park are worth going to. Our bus driver Mick was fantastic and gave us a great day out. A real character. Make sure you have the morning tea and lunch. You won't be sorry.

There were only four of us on our tour but Darryl made us very welcome from the start. Darryl knew his stuff and guided us through the history of the area with ease. He is a credit to his company and was both pleasant and funny the whole long trip and it was over before we knew it. The Curtain Tree was a highlight and though it was a too cold a day for a swim at Millaa Millaa Falls Darryl still gave us lots of time to take pictures and walk down to the falls Our visit to Paronella Park was so interesting and enjoyable. Both Morning Tea and Lunch were lovely and enjoyable Thank you Darryl for a great day out. This is a tour and with Darryl as guide I would recommend to all.
